Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 Ok, we agree, the look is not what’s more important, especially for this type of device, but we must recognize that spit on what is pretty, and it has HX1 just a beautiful face with beautiful screen LCD 3”… In short, nobody will complain about that later.
Especially as the material used for this bridge is very nice. Yep, as usual, Sony Cybershot got it right level design, level and choice of material …

Now when it comes to ownership, then it must be said that we were a bit lost as to the parameters of ISO sensitivity. Basically, the first thing you do when you take your camera in hand, is trifouiller go through the menus to configure your beast … But the most important parameters are missing, such as ISO sensitivity … We admit have surrendered themselves to the manual (yes, shame on us! A Geek forced to look in the instructions …) so we could not find our famous setting. And despite all the efforts of Sony to make things simple, we did not notice the small Jog Dial placed next to the shoot button … And guess what? It must first press the button to access the menu and select the ISO …
In short, we will not spend hours, but for a user “Lambda” is far from being ergonomic, and I think Sony has much to do on this side.

Features of the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX1:

- Wide Angle (28mm, f/2.8) with 20x optical zoom and Optical Image Stabilizer.
- Resolution: 9.1 Megapixels
- Sony Exmore CMOS sensor for a gust to shoot 10fps at full resolution
- Film HDV (1440 x 1080p, 30 fps) with HDMI 1080i
- Several scene mode control + manual
- Face Detection AF / AE / FE / WB, Automatic of Smiles
- Function Noise Reduction, Motion Detection and Servo AF
- Red-Eye Correction
- I-brightness Contrast Boost
- LCD 3”

Still
As Canon SX1, we do not expect miracles from the HX1 … After all, these devices are not DSLR … But as a whole, the photos were “OK.”
Like many other Sony devices, the photos tend to be too deep in color, it is true, will face a good impression to the user on Sunday, but that will immediately lower to an amateur or “pro” . Yes, sometimes, the colors were “too” and distorting the image, making it surreal. This was especially the case when we shootions colors red or pink. Again, if you’re not the type to look for perfection or to zoom to 100%, but rather one to enjoy your photos on TV or on a computer screen, the result is very satisfactory … Now if you zoom to 100%, you will see some “pixel effect” quite disturbing (Not sure that the term is correct) in particular on different elements of the photo. Moreover, the Canon SX1 get much better results from this point of view.

What about the video?
Quick Review… JAlthough the HX1 is not a Full HD, but rather a HDV camera (resolution 1440 x 1080), we must recognize that the result is much better than the one that obtained with the video mode of the Canon SX1 … The videos are full color, precise, vivid, even in low light … In short, very impressive for this type of camera, and the HX1 is even harder when you realize that it offers more HD videos

Conclusion:
Offering photos certainly less perfect than the Canon SX1, the HX1 is still a very good solution for those looking for a good while Bridge-in-one. The HX1 offers beautiful photos full of color, a good panorama mode, and pretty HD video … But if it is above all the quality picture you want to focus, then I advise you turn on the SX1.
