Canon joins Panasonic in the compact segment, high-amplitude zoom with the PowerShot SX200 IS 12x zoom and stabilized.
SX200 IS and 12x zoom
The Canon SX200 IS naturally shines in first place with its 12x optical zoom starting at 28mm and with the approval of the stabilization even at 336mm..Canon SX200 IS in the footsteps of Panasonic TZ6
If implementing a 12x optical zoom on a compact space also remains a small feat in itself, the Canon SX200 IS comes after the Panasonic Lumix TZ6 (and TZ7) making a cabriole view more insane as it provides the same amplitude of 12x, but by starting at 25mm to give an extraordinary 25-300mm.
Video 720p
Among other technological refinements, the SX200 IS offers a DIGIC IV processor very comfortable with all the treatments to make a comfortable LCD 3″ and the ability to record 720p HD video (1080i no donc) a little as is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 (a TZ6 who registered for AVCHD). Today in 2009, the high definition was installed and replaced the flat screens. There are mostly full HD TVs with 1080i. So in this context, is it still appropriate to talk of HD when you rotate a movie to 720p?
